Sustainable solutions in our food supply is key to reduce wastage and in turn, reduce the negative impacts on climate change. The production of food and packaging waste releases greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
Jointly organised by Enterprise Singapore, Republic Polytechnic and Singapore Polytechnic, the event highlighted innovations by students that aim to reduce the byproducts of food manufacturing. Soy milk byproducts made into ‘fishballs’ and cookies were some of the interesting items on display at the event.
Grace Fu, Minister of the Ministry of Sustainability and Environment, attended the event. Food manufacturers are a key part of the green economy in making food production a green process for the entire supply chain.
